IFES Conducts Training in Tbilisi on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities Featured Image

From August 8-9, 2016, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), in coordination with the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, conducted a disability rights training on good practices for including persons with disabilities in elections.

Two compelling photographs depicting insightful moments of Election Day in India and voter registration in Nepal have won the top prizes of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems’ (IFES) 2016 Photography Contest. They were part of 10 photographs selected as finalists among the more than 100 images that were submitted to the democracy-themed competition.

Supporting Meaningful Global Youth Engagement Featured Image

To mark International Youth Day 2016, the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening (CEPPS) reaffirms its commitment to supporting inclusive and meaningful global youth engagement. CEPPS recognizes that young people around the world face incredible individual, socio-cultural, and institutional challenges as they navigate their transition from the dependence of childhood to active citizenship in adulthood.

IFES Charles T. Manatt Democracy Awards

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems’ (IFES) Charles T. Manatt Democracy Award is presented each year in a special ceremony to one Democrat, one Republican and a member of the international community who demonstrate the dedication to democracy and human rights embodied by the award’s namesake, former IFES Board of Directors Chairman Charles T. Manatt.

IFES Announces U.S. Recipients of 2016 Democracy Awards Featured Image

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) will honor Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) and Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) with its 2016 Charles T. Manatt Democracy Award. 

IFES will honor Nay Lin Soe, a disability rights advocate and founder and CEO of the Myanmar Independent Living Initiative, with its 2016 Charles T. Manatt Democracy Award. This is the first time that IFES has honored both a disability rights advocate and an Asian citizen with the Democracy Award.
