Nach dem Bundespräsidenten haben nun auch einstige Hardliner wie Karl Lauterbach und Katrin Göring-Eckardt ihren Willen zu einer dringlichen Aufarbeitung der Corona-Zeit bekundet. Der Wind dreht sich.

Die Demokratie, so heißt es, ist in Gefahr. Überall und unablässig wird zu ihrem Schutz aufgerufen, gegen Feinde von außen wie innen, Populisten, Autokraten, aber auch Bürger, die demokratisch gewählte Politiker beschimpften, alles Etablierte in Frage stellten. Gefährlich sei das. Diese Besorgnis, mal hilflos verzagt, mal kampflustig vorgetragen, wirkt einerseits ehrlich. Andererseits scheint sie vor allem eine Sorge um die Akzeptanz der Regierung zu sein, deren ungestörtes Wirken gleichgesetzt wird mit eben diesem Wort: Demokratie.
